I fell in love with my father’s birthplace, Madrid. So much history, beautiful architecture, delicious food and shopping!

You will experience the best shopping at Gran Via and Calle Fuencarral. My favorite store was Primark. You can find anything you need for a reasonable price. It's like shopping in NYC but better and cheaper. I came back home with more clothes and shoes. On Sundays, visit the local craft markets on the street.

When in Spain, you must eat paella, tortilla española, drink lots of sangria and indulge in churros dipped in chocolate.
I recommend eating paella at Rosi La Loca Taberna. The restaurant is small with super cute decor. Don’t forget to order a pitcher of sangria.

I had the best pulpo and amazing sangria at Taberna El Sur.

The best churros are at Chocolateria San Gines. It's open 24/7.

For amazing tortilla española, you must eat at Pez Tortilla. They are huge so you can share with a group.

For historical views, visit Plaza Mayor, Plaza de Oriente, Palacio Real, and find any hotel rooftop for beautiful views of the city.

I enjoyed a night of dancing at The Host. I danced Salsa, Bachata and Kizomba. I highly recommend you to attend a live Flamenco show or enjoy a night out dancing in the city. Every night there is a show or a place to go dancing.
